National Gay and Lesbian
Task Force
NGLTF is the national progressive organization working for the civil
rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people. NGLTF's vision
and commitment to social change is building a powerful political movement
in the fifty states and the District of Columbia.
Human Rights Campaign
The Human Rights Campaign, the largest national lesbian and gay political
organization, envisions an America where lesbian and gay people are
ensured of their basic equal rights - and can be open, honest and safe
at home, at work and in the community.
GLAAD: The Gay & Lesbian
Alliance Against Defamation
GLAAD is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate, and inclusive
representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of
eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and
sexual orientation.
PFLAG: Parents, Families
and Friends of Lesbians and Gays
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support,
to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed
public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil
rights.
Marriage Equality
Marriage Equality works to secure the freedom and the right of same-sex couples
to enter into legally-recognized civil marriage, having all the federal and state benefits
and responsibilities which that entails.

Advocates and Defenders
Founded in 1978, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) is New England's
leading legal rights organization for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and
people living with HIV. GLAD's mission is to achieve full equality for
all individuals in these groups, primarily through impact litigation
LAMBDA
Aims "to create social change and achieve full civil rights, dignity,
and self-respect for gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals through
education, youth advocacy, anti-violence efforts, and fighting discrimination
of all forms, to achieve full participation in society of persons belonging
to a sexual minority."
NCLR: National
Center for Lesbian Rights
NCLR is the nation's legal center with a primary commitment to advancing
the rights and safety of lesbians and their families through a program
of litigation, public policy advocacy, free legal advice and counseling,
and public education. In addition, NCLR provides representation and
resources to gay men, and bisexual and transgendered individuals on
key issues that also significantly advance lesbian rights.

give all Americans legal access. Do-it-yourself law is no substitute
for consulting an attorney. However, Nolo's site provides lots of information.
